3rd Annual Adopt a Troop for Christmas 2008
Re/Max of Lebanon County, 1518 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA, 17042 will once again hold it's "Adopt a Troop" Christmas project .
We have received requests from the United States Marines Corps, Marines at Camp Lejuene, NC asking that we not forget the troops who are currently stationed in remote areas of Afghanistan and will remain there through Christmas, away from their families.
We ask everyone to consider adopting a Troop ( or 2 or 3). If you have a loved one serving in the war, contact us and we will add his/her name to the list of recipients.
Unlike last year, we do not have individual names of service members, only a list of 4 units. We ask that you either shop for the items requested or donate $20.00 to cover the stocking, contents and postage, sign a card to be place in the stocking and know that your gift will be much appreciated by the recipient.
Last year, everyone was so generous. We were able to send over 250 filled stockings, 10 boxes of Christmas goodies to the local VA Medical Center and 50 stockings to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. This year, we would like to be able to do the same. We have continued to support the troops throughout 2008. Please consider supporting one or more of these troops for Christmas. Our latest correspondence from the First Sergeant, 1SG Rubio, read as follows: "If it were not for Central Pennsylvania ( the name we have given our support group) we would wonder if anyone even knew that we were here!"
Any questions, please contact Wanda Bechtold at 717-270-4257 or by email at
